Has the Idea been scrapped?
In the last October GC it was said New Manuals are going to be published which will teach a more accurate LDS history.
If a new manual is no longer in the works, It would seem the GAs lied and are taking TBMs for fools(which is nothing new)by brushing those statements under the rug, again.
Or has the decision been made to let the Gospel fizzle away as the Younger Generations leave and Baby Boomers retire.

The Book of Mormon is already out (2003-2009). PofGP too. The New Testament needs an overhaul just based on age but what's there to change? Probably nothing but a rearrangement. There is also a Church History manual. Feel free to browse:
http://www.LDS.org/manual/institute?lang=engThese are not the only manuals of course, but they tend to be the most in depth.

Mormons don't tell the truth as it was and is. Mormons like to lie. Just look at the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 and you'll see nothing but lies and distorations which are not discussed in any official Mormon manual. LDS manuals about Facsimile No. 3 are a total joke -- like a clown or a cow jumping over the moon!
Mormons are a joke!

(prove me wrong you silly brainwashed Mormons and I'll run away with my tail tucked)

This Is the only excerpt from the manual pertaining to 1985:
Church History in the Fulness of Times.
In 1985, as President of the Church, President Benson issued a special
plea to disaffected members to come back to Christ. As part of this
determined, continuing effort to bring lost sheep back to the fold, the First
Presidency wrote in their Christmas message of 1985: “We are aware
of some who are inactive, of others who have become critical and are
prone to find fault, and of those who have been disfellowshipped or
excommunicated because of serious transgressions.
“To all such we reach out in love. . . .
“. . . Come back. Come back and feast at the table of the Lord, and taste
again the sweet and satisfying fruits of fellowship with the saints.”4
The text never even mentions Mark Hofmann. Just the fact members had began to leave, for some
unknown reason. Other than that, not much happened in 1985.
