Another Dodo Moment for Elder Holland?

In Elder Holland's Saturday afternoon talk in General Conference, he seems to divide the world of non-Mormons into two categories. Those who have left the Church, and those who will join.

He did this by inserting the word "yet" not once, but twice in his talk.

Whether you are not yet of our faith or were with us once and have not remained, there is nothing in either case that you have done that cannot be undone. There is no problem which you cannot overcome.

***

My beloved brothers and sisters, to those of you who have been blessed by the gospel for many years because you were fortunate enough to find it early, to those of you who have come to the gospel by stages and phases later, and to those of you—members and not yet members—who may still be hanging back, to each of you, one and all, I testify of the renewing power of God’s love and the miracle of His grace. His concern is for the faith at which you finally arrive, not the hour of the day in which you got there.

Am I the only one who found this a tad presumptuous?

And wasn't Elder Holland wearing the same necktie he had on during the BBC interview?

All the Best!

Perhaps that tie tends to go on too tight, constricting blood flow to his brain.

Is it the same necktie that he wore every day of his mission?

Maybe Holland regards "the Church" as the Once and Future Cult.

How T. H. White of him!

And with all the negative publicity about baptisms for the dead, mightn't there seem an ominous overtone to such language?

You can run, but you can't hide.

Not even in the grave.

All the Best!

Damn, consig, you are too well versed and read for me to try and plagiarize and then paraphrase a damn good phrase.

What pisses me off about this sanctimonious asshole is this:

Whether you are not yet of our faith or were with us once and have not remained, there is nothing in either case that you have done that cannot be undone. There is no problem which you cannot overcome.

Screw you Holland.

It's a bit of an odd choice of words, but I'm gonna be charitable here and say that he was just being hopeful. He honestly believes his religion teaches the truth, and he honestly believes that the best place for everyone is found within the church, therefore he hopes to see the day when everyone will convert.

And a vast majority of Mormons are taking pills to help them cope with staying members.
