Dear Mormon Jesus.

Dear Mormon Jesus,
All my life I have been blessed by the veneration of my Orixa Exu. He gives me power over my enemies. Now I am being told by a pair of estrangeiro young men in white shirts that my Orixa is animistic, pagan and demonic, and instead of making offering to Exu, I should pray to you to know the truth.

So here I am. I see you actively participate on this board and give "revelation".What can you offer me that my Exu can not? I am already blessed with strength and a corpo fechado. What more can you do?

Axe!

I'm not Jesus, for the record, but I'm pretty sure that Jesus wants me to tell you that what He can offer is sticking around.

Actually, I'm tempted to ask you, do you believe that Orixa Exu is going to stick around? For the rest of eternity? And do you have reason to believe Orixa Exu is a good being? If so, then I would suggest you ask Orixa Exu if He (She?) wants you to follow the Mormon Jesus. There are a lot of things about God that are unclear, but it has been clear to me for a long time that God simply cannot care what name S/He is called.

Orixa Exu is neither good nor bad. He is a trickster. An eternal manifestation of chaos and the messenger of Olódùmarè. Exu does not want me to follow Jesus. He is a jealous Orixa.

Axe!

Steelhead,

I may be wrong but if Mormon Jesus really is "Mormon" Jesus, then He won't receive your prayer directly. Remember, you're supposed to petition the Father in the name of the Son?

Come to think of it, He probably won't be able to answer you directly either. We'll have to hope for the appearance of the Mormon Holy Ghost for that to be possible.

What a telephone game. No wonder people can't get straight what's God's will and what is made of their own fancy.

On the plus side, if Mormon Jesus really is "Mormon" Jesus, He probably has a PayPal account set up for supporting His important ventures/revelations and you may be able to slip Him notes that way. In fact, if He doesn't provide a link to one soon, I may begin to doubt He IS the "Mormon" Jesus. Or atleast yellow slips with a mailing address to Church Headquarters or some suitable substitute.

Mormon Jesus is a big fan of cultural imperialism. Not only do you have to give up your gods, but you have to wear western clothes and sing western songs.
