In lesson 12 of the Aaronic Priesthood Manual for 2012, a quotation is used approvingly from a sister who wrote an article in the New Era:
"When the prophet speaks … the debate is over."
I don't know what the full quote is--i.e., what comes between "speaks" and "the debate" because the lesson manual chose to omit it so the sentence reads as it does above.
The lesson then asks:
What did Sister Cannon mean when she said that when the prophet speaks, the debate is over?
Why is this so important to us?
Please answer. Here is the link to the lesson:

WOW.
You already know the answer to that loaded question. It is answered in CES speak.
Which is why people are leaving.
Sister Cannon knows that the Lord® chose the prophet due to his righteousness and therefore will NEVER say anything that the Lord™ does not agree with(at least while he is still living), therefore the prophet is the oracle of the Lord© which makes him the ultimate and only authority on EVERYTHING.

Nothing much was in between.
Personal opinions may vary. Eternal principles never do. When the prophet speaks, sisters, the debate is over. So I urge us all to provide powerful unity as women for those things we can agree upon—family, chastity, accountability to the Lord, responsibility in the community, sharing the gospel.

Thanks Fence Sitter.
Should not the quote be corrected to read, "When the prophet speaks AS A PROPHET, the debate is over." ???

A: It means Sister Cannon is off her nut.
And this is important to us because it demonstrates that people can very publicly go off their nut.

Bc, as this is now official doctrine, does it retroactively apply to anything ever said by a prophet?

So the men involved in putting together the official curriculum for teaching young men in the church are off their nuts?

Perhaps they play with their nuts too much?
