What's your number?

Post by _Rambo »

No I'm not asking for your phone number. Unless your a hot chick... Hot exmormon chicks are sweet because they know how Mormonism kind of screwed me up a little :)

With PP's thread I thought it would be fun to see how many souls you deconverted. This means you personally probably had a big impact on peoples deconversion.

Here are the people that had the biggest impact on my deconversion.

While I was still TBM an intern got me to say that I didn't think polygamy was of god. That was the first time I didn't agree with the church. Really got me thinking for a bit but then I put it in the back of my head.

My old manager at work. He was not a religious guy and he never talked about religion. He was a really stand up awesome guy and he wasn't Mormon. He taught me that you can be happy, healthy, and have a good family without being Mormon.

Bob Mccue I stumbled upon his website while I was looking for a church building number on the internet (My dad was the bishop at the time).

After Bob Mccue's website I had huge questions and I stumbled upon here.

Runtu - Was the first time I realized critics could actually be nice people. He came across very honest and he just couldn't get decent answers from apologists.

PP - Just really showed how ridiculous the apologist arguments were. He was simple and to the point. Very good at pointing out the flaws in apologist arguments in a few short sentences. Good thing I like dirty humour or I wouldn't of read him.

So are you on someones list? What's your number?

My number is 1 and how great is my joy.

40+ converted on an English speaking USA mission. All still active. Some have served missions and one even became a Stake President. Participated in some way or other in hundreds since.

Wow that is impressive! I think I had about 18 on my mission and I don't have a clue what they are doing now.

I've baptized a couple of people that have since gone astray. Does that count?

Did you tell them the truth about how Joseph translated the Book of Mormon?
How about why Joseph was imprisoned?
Did your converts know what they would be expected to sign up for in the Temple before they were baptised?

Because you know that if you didn't tell them the truth upfront then their baptisms are null and void...

I had about the same in a foreign speaking mission. Activity rates were typically 25% or less, so I assume 10 or so are still active.

I don't believe you. Do you have pictures to prove it? I want pictures of these people drinking or going to the strip club.
