Be Happy, Go Lucky!

For some reason, these old Lucky Strike ads reminded me of the recent "I'm A Mormon!" ad campaign:

A young couple on the beach, a sailor in the Navy, a married couple in the back yard of their suburban house, a fine-looking serviceman in uniform, a cheerleader, a professor, a miner, a girl baseball player, a cowgirl, a mailman … people from all walks of life smoke Lucky Strikes. You should, too!

Yes, they are lucky go happy in the extreme.

I especially like the suburban utopia one with the husband sitting against a tree, his push-mower at his feet, his wife wearing a dress to do yard work.

It's a tableau that really warms my heart, like the glowing red coal at the end of a Lucky Strike cigarette.
