What about the defense of Mormonism...
causes mopologists to be mean-spirited and attack other Mormons, those that take its tenets on faith only?

I think it is because of the legalistic nature of their brand of religion. I've paid my tithe, I attend my meetings, I heroically do my home teaching. I see no rule as to not being an ass....I mean, for chrissake, didn't even Jesus drive out the money changer. I guess it falls somewhere under 'rightous indig.

They way they act, it makes you wonder if Ballard spent a week in Provo washing feet an NAMIRS.

"And the human knew the source of life, the woman of him, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, 'I have procreated a man with Yahweh.'" Gen. 4:1, interior quote translated by D. Bokovoy.

Well, it's not an interesting enough story to post....why I do post, as I've been out of Mormondom for 25 years now. I think it has something to do with Saturday night, a couple of beers, sports action on TV and a laptop in front of me. Anyway, the point being, I don't know anything about "Ballard" or "NAMIRS", but I will commit an 'LOL' on spec....based on the fact that your posts are usually clever.

I used to think of myself as a decent armchair psychologist, but I really missed this one. That's the root isn't it.....inferiority complex.
