Has anyone seen these videos? They are available here http://www.LDS.org/bible-videos/videos/?lang=eng My wife started watching them because I guess the church is pushing people to watch them and share them with non members. They are short clips of Bible scenes. We watched a few and I don't understand where the church is going for with these. I tried to take off my church critic hat and simply watch them as an objective viewer. After all, I'm agnostic, but I loved The Passion of the Christ. These LDS produced videos just don't do it for me. They are extremely dull. The acting is terrible. Everyone looks bored. They come across as flat and uninspired. Am I being overly critical? Are these actually well done? Has Satan blinded me from the brilliance of these videos?

I watched the baptism of Jesus video. It's okay. A little bland. The accents were distracting - John was British and Jesus was American. It'd probably be much more interesting for someone with an emotional connection to the subject matter. But without that, yeah, a bit bland. Not terrible or anything.

Baptism of Jesus was kinda hawt. A little homoerotic.

At least they didn't have John use the LDS baptism. LMAO

Do you think there is a lot of passion in the New Testament? Just curious. Maybe LDS is trying to portray exactly what they interpret from the Bible stories - passionless dialogue and interactions.

ETA: I think there is some passion in the Bible. I just wanted to make that clear.

[Patriotic Humor]

John was British

Of course. The 13 colonies were the forerunners of the 13 original states.

Jesus was American

Jesus is indeed an American; by adoption.

He is the God of the land and we should serve him or be swept off.

In that case, we may want to reconsider all baptisms/ordinances of men being performed by other men. The difference is the clothing and hair styles.

The videos have the same passion as an Elder's quorum meeting. I should probably cut them some slack. I'm unfairly comparing the videos to professionally produced films with multimillion dollar budgets. The Passion of the Christ and even The Life of Brian engaged the audience in the story. These videos are just flat.

Can someone ask college humor.com to do a spoof of this boring video?

Jesus doing an awesome cannonball would be a great start.

Making Jesus videos should stand as proof that more Mormons should become Presidential candidates. The more Christian we become, the better off we will be.
