Unfortunately, often times I read negative commentary in regards to City Creek mall and the Church dollars used to develop the large and spacious mall. Note: I said Church dollars and not a specific avenue of Church dollars.

Anyways, I would like to take an apologetic/appropriate approach to City Creek mall and develop a thread boasting the many benefits of City Creek in order to meet the mission of the Church. The many benefits may be obvious to most so please endure to the end of this process.

1. Heated parking garages for Church leadership and members, therefore correlation will run far more efficiently.

2. A place to obtain cheesecake and observe the commoner indulge in an alcoholic beverage. This will allow leadership to understand the importance of alcohol abstinence. You may consider this a complete sell out of Mormon beliefs and practices in order to cater to a chain restaurant for the sake of profit, but I say nay.

3. If poor folks from far away lands ever visit SLC they can learn why it was so important for their ancestors to be wh1te and delight-some. It is obvious, those visiting SLC and their ancestors were fence sitters. You reap what you sow.

4. Seeing Church dollars in City Creek mall action will be faith promoting. Who would have thought a little church in Kirtland, OH could come so far?!?

5. Just because City Creek mall goes directly against direction found in the Book of Mormon and Bible is really not a problem. Modern revelation can remedy this issue.

6. A mall is much more fun than 1,000s of wells used to support those greatly suffering in faraway lands. I for one know, when I use to sit in bishopric meetings we consistently had folks in need...and wow are they lazy. Some handicap and elderly folks even had the nerve to ask for grocery help. We are not here to just give our time and money away.

7. Less money available to pay janitors or financially support service missionaries. This gives these same folks the opportunities to grow and serve even if it is a trial. The mall, if anything, helps them become better people.

Feel free to add to or critique my list. I am not sure one can find a negative to counter the many positives of City Creek. by the way, William Shyrverer, Scott Lloyd, and I will be at the Cheesecake Factory next weekend. We will be discussing cyphers, the Kinderhook Plates, and their obvious ties to the Book of Ham. William has an upcoming presentation regarding this subject at the Sandy Marriott. This should be an uplifting experience.
