This is a "what if" post.

What if the most important and influential collective behavior was kindness? What if it just so happened that espousing kindness was the world's biggest challenge? What if people expected a church to promote this good behavior?

If that were true, why would a church organization emphasize ideas that aren't related to kindness? Is it because you quickly run out of things to discuss? Is it so that people can busy themselves?

I realize there isn't much to discuss here. I'm musing over decaf.

zeezrom, go back to caf and add some edginess to your posts. Decaf is leading you to kindness and dreaming of a utopian church, one that is hinged on kindness. That's not the purpose of an organization--which is a tool for some to gain leverage over others. Not too kind.

Beliefs that make one feel more secure, comforted and thus inclined to be kind to others does not require any organization. No church is needed.

You have gone beyond bureaucracy and the 'stick' (fear of some reprisal from the organization), and into ideas and the 'carrot'. Good on you, zeezrom.

My Mom said I missed the boat with getting married. This was 2 years ago so I have really missed it now :)

I have gone a lot more directions than I likely should have. Oh well, it is interesting to me. This week, I'm learning all about Navajo art and artists of the Soutwestern U.S. People are speaking Spanish around me and it sounds oh, so romantic.

I'm getting really bad at discussing Mormonism. I lost my edge completely. I used to be able to debate with folks at MDD and others on a near continual basis.

I saw this painting at the museum today and fell in deep love with it.

haha, my mom told me i hit my prime at 21 (right when i got home from the mission). That was my cue to hurry up!

Seriously, it is a picture of a step-son of a pentecostal preacher in Lafayette, Indiana. A kid named Bill Bailey who grew up always on the wrong end of the stick. Headed out to LA in the 80s, Sunset Strip to be exact and gave the world an ode to how welcoming the 'jungle' is there. Since then, he's gone by his birth surname and taken a first name of his own choosing, ergo, Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns n' Roses.

Taos. Have you been there? The color of light is different (maybe altitude and location?). Especially in the afternoon.
