I remember the mopologists taking exception to the use of the word insider in Palmer's An Insider's View of Mormon Origins. According to the Trib, Orrin Hatch's forthcoming book will be titled An Insider's Guide to Mormon Beliefs.

Will Hatch's title be subject to the same criticism from the mopologists as Palmer's?

I somehow doubt that.

I think I can safely predict only the sound of crickets coming from NAMIRS on this one.

He is an insider because his book is faith-affirming.

For instance, perhaps someone should have told The New York Times' Jodi Kantor that “deseret” is a noun in LDS-speak meaning “honeybee,” not an adjective suggesting “industriousness.”

I'm glad Senator Hatch is going to clear up misunderstandings like this. The general public needs to know that "deseret" is what honeybees were called by a group of people who escaped having their language mixed up at the tower of Babel so they could journey for a year in wooden submarines, with no steering or propulsion and glowing rocks inside, to America, where they built a vast civilization that made use of advanced metallurgy and elephants.

We need these clarifications out there, because when a reporter just says that "deseret" means "industrious," it makes Mormon beliefs look ridiculous!

An insiders view? funny, but in a sick way.

Hatch seems responsible, he's got the balls if the crap hits the fan.

In his hands weights and balances. They still have a choice, at least I like to think so.

At least there will be no hatchet reviews on Hatch.

Not unless you can find western etymology on that word prior the LDS Church.
