I see that it was dated 2000. How long were you there?

Wow, so the Church itself paid for this, eh? That's quite a stunning piece of evidence.

I think I know someone that went there as well.

He smoked weed and I think he did a bit of escatasy as well. His parents pretty much kidnapped him and sent him to a rehab center in Utah. Could be this I guess...

So the Boys Ranch is considered "health care"?
I always found Bishop Huffaker to be great person, what was his involvement in the decision to send you to the Boys Ranch?

Meh.

what was his involvement in the decision to send you to the Boys Ranch?

I don't know enough about it yet to comment, but I look forward to finding out.

Below is some of my favorite commentary regarding the "allegation" that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints *DIRECTLY* supports the Chris Buttars Utah Boys Ranch:

Let's say the title said 'Trapped in a Jewish Gulag'. Not only would it never make the rec list, but the diarist would never be heard from again. Of course I'm not advocating Chino disappear, but this diary (especially the title) doesn't belong on the rec list.

If it's not owned the church, the title needs to be changed.

This camp has nothing to do with the Mormon Church.

Whether some camp in Utah is doing that in the name of the church is something that should be looked into, but calling it a Mormon Gulag is a lie. Plus, the intentions of the diarist are clear. The diarist is upset with the church over prop 8 (rightfully so), but the diarist is using untrue sniping attacks to vent his anger.

I'm not really upset about the diary, as I think this ranch is a nuts, but the title and the tying to the LDS religion is not only inflammatory but also inaccurate.

PROVE that the place is staffed by missionaries[*].
Prove it.

Probably some homo who’s still mad about prop 8 and displacing his anger on the Mormons...Also if you look at the board of trustees[*] not one of them is a leader in the Mormon church. Kind of wierd if the school really is run by the Mormons.

Here is another document that speaks to the kind of non-denominational "treatment" Boys Ranch boys receive.
