Good for Marvel Comics and Stan Lee (who is decidedly in favor of marriage equality)! Marvel Comics revealed yesterday that that superhero, Northstar, will marry his boyfriend, Kyle Jinadu, in the pages of "Astonishing X-Men" No. 51, due out June 20. Marvel also led the way with "outing" Northstar in 1992. Since then, numerous superheroes have come out of the closet.

Of course, conservative Christian groups are protesting the wedding.
"Children desire to be just like superheroes," reads a post on the One Million Moms website. http://sciencefiction.com/2012/05/24/one-million-moms-call-arms-gay-characters-comics/
"Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, 'I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?' This is ridiculous!"
Protest all you want, but this is the wave of the future. I was glad to see the Silver Surfer in attendance at the wedding. He was one of my heroes growing up, and I would be sad to find out that he is a bigot.
