http://maxwellinstitute.BYU.edu/news/index.php?id=150&type=newsI am so glad the MI has decided to change for the better. These changes were necessary to create a better, more kind and accepting atmosphere in the Church.
I contacted the MI today and committed to give them a substantial donation this week.
I would encourage everyone who applauds this change to support the MI in any manner that they feel appropriate.

Well, this announcement confirms the membership of Louis Midgley and adds George L. Mitton and Robert White to the list of OMIDs.

Danite." (Adding a small "s" at the end merely makes "OMID" plural; it isn't part of the acronym.) It was coined by lostindc yesterday; see
this post and
this post.
Practically speaking, this will include anyone who has been marginalized from, ostracized from, or censored by the Institute, as described by William Hamblin in his pro-Scratch verification post at MD&D. We know that DCP and Hamblin himself are among them. Thanks to their articles being pulled, we also know that William Schryver and now Gregory Smith are among their ranks, too. Considering the direction Dr. Bradford intends to take the Institute, we can guess that DCP's editorial team--Louis Midgley, George L. Mitton, and Robert White--are also OMIDs as of now. And, depending on what the impetus might have been for his move to SHIELDS, of all places, we can guess wildly that John Tvedtnes may be one of them, too.
Hamblin doesn't name names, so there are probably others. It also remains to be seen whether those FAIRites who are outraged with Dr. Bradford are honorary OMIDs or just OMID supporters.

Do you think Bradford raised his arm to the square and commanded Danielite to get thee hence?
I wonder if the new home teachers to the MI will give it a new blessing.

Now that his office has been cleared out they will probably pour holy oil in the middle of the carpet and give it a name and a blessing. The name by which the carpet shall be known upon the records of the church is: FAT HOLY DONUTS!

The blessing of DCP's office now that he is gone:
O Jehovah,
We ask thee to bless this office and the walls and carpet that it may be a place for the new editor to perform work unto thee in a manner which pleases thee. Holy Father, Lord of heaven and earth -- we thank thee that the BYU administrators had the faith and courage to cut off thy slothful servant, DCP, and his name be forever removed from the records of this holy carpet which has been consecrated with holy donut oil in the name of the Lord.
