http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/t ... 687?page=2In a statement regarding the defectors who spoke on the record to [The Hollywood Reporter,]
Gary Soter, a Calabasas-based attorney representing the organization, said: "All of these people are ex-communicated self-promoters who are sadly exploiting a private family matter for their own personal financial gain. The Church [of Scientology]
stands by its previous statements with respect to all of them. They cannot be believed given they have acquired no firsthand knowledge of the Church for many years and have a record of making false and/or misleading statements about the Church."What? Did you assume I was talking about apostates from the LDS Church?

When you lose the Spirit, you forget everything you were taught and experienced in the church.

Nah, you just lose the right to have your arguments have any merit on their own terms.

It's amazing how many parallels there are between Scientology and Mormonism. The only difference is that the Mormons have had more time to work more of the craziness out of their correlated doctrine.
Scientology = Mormonism 150 years ago.

When you lose the spirit, you gain reason.

Reason isn't the opposite of the spirit. Pride is. Sometimes what's referred to as "the spirit" isn't. And if it is, then you don't lose it, ever. God doesn't renig on a deal.

You don't have to leave the Church to lose the 'spirit'. I think many of those that lead the Church have lost the 'spirit', if they ever had it in the first place.

Sure He does. God renigs on lots of deals, at least in the Bible...... there are many places where he left Israel alone, and other times when he simply kills whoever He darn well pleases to kill.
Sorry, I am still learning how to work this with quotes. It keeps telling me I can't embed quotes within quotes.

There is some truth to that as the properties ascribed to the LDS Church by most anti Mormons often don't reflect the LDS Church at all. Most of you have hidden your talent in the ground because you were afraid and now it's been taken away. Matthew 25:29
