Can you guys help me accumulate teachings of the LDS church that serve to alienate children from their non-believing parents or loved ones?

I can think of a couple in general terms, but would like to build a clear and concise list.

Thank you my friends!

First LDS practice that serves to alienate.

The practice that only LDS members with temple access can attend their child's wedding/sealing. It is also taught that the sealing is the most important thing you can acheive so there is extreme pressure to get married in a fashion that excludes your non-believing loved ones.

Holding a temple recommend will help you stay closer to your life partner. If you don't hold a temple recommend, you are at a higher risk of divorce. If your parents get a divorce and one of your parents is not temple worthy, it must be the unworthy parent's fault.

I have no power to describe the peace and serenity that come from the assurance that as I continue to live worthily, I will be able to be with my beloved Jeanene and our children forever because of that sacred ordinance performed with the proper priesthood authority in the house of the Lord.

The temple sealing has greater meaning as life unfolds. It will help you draw ever closer together and find greater joy and fulfillment in mortality.

Not allowing a child's father perform baptism, HG confirmation, priesthood ordinations, etc. because the father does not 'honor' his priesthood by paying a full tithe.

I think the biggest problem with the above situation is that it isn't allowed for a person to have both an all-inclusive wedding and a temple sealing/wedding on the same day. Unless the rules have changed, you are not permitted to get married outside the temple so that your non-believing family can attend, and then get sealed immediately in the temple. You are also very strongly discouraged from doing it the other way around (members-only temple sealing at 9am, everyone-invited wedding at 10am at the local wedding hall).

Does anybody know the rules outside of US?

In US, any church/cult/preacher/wizard can "sanction" a marriage.
In most place of Europe, (I know, we are the old world) only the civil marriage is valid.

May - for example - a German, living in Freiberg (Sachsen) marry by civil law forenoon
then in the temple here?Image Or in reverse order?

As far as I know, for Europe a lot of Mormon rule is different...

FYI
Europe (pronunciation: /ˈjʊərəp/ YEWR-əp or /ˈjɜrəp/ YUR-əp) is, by convention, one of the world's seven continents.
It is not a country... (link)Image

The missionary programme alienates children from a non believing parent/loved one for a significant period of an important time in a childs life.

Thanks for all the examples! Keep 'em coming.

I feel like kids are taught from primary age to stay away from "bad influences" including family and friends that might be making "bad choices."

I think it is evident from the stories shared in teh Ensign that children of non-believers feel compelled to correct their sinful parents and feel uncomfortable around them. They are, afterall, taught that people who don't live the LDS commandments don't have The Spirit.

Overall exclusion. From conversations, events, trust, unconditional love, etc.
