Atheism isn't as bad as the fear mongering religious folks claim it is.
What are some of the positives of not believing in a god?
More free time. Less time wasted on something we have zero evidence exists.

Atheists are not required to hate anyone. There is no doctrine that promotes in/out thinking.

Atheism encourages you to cram your life with good things rather than expecting to catch up when you're dead.
Atheists can wear whatever underwear they like.

That atheism doesn't have "teachings" is a big plus in my book. I accept the burden and responsibility of finding and evaluating ideas myself instead of giving first consideration to an organization, leadership, and doctrine with a rather questionable record.
Atheism is the absence of one belief--- not a lifestyle or belief system.

No supreme leader that you are obligated to follow.
No set of doctrines created by others that you must believe (even if you don't) and you must defend (no matter how indefensible).

This statistic is slightly off, PP. When an atheist is sent to prison, he finds Jesus (because that's where Jesus is). That is why there are very few atheists in prison.
When the inmate is paroled, he leaves and becomes free and atheist again.
.. and of course, Jesus remains. Patiently awaiting the prodigal's return.
