Mass Resignation from Mormonism Video!
On June 30, 2012, between 120 & 150 people gathered in Salt Lake City Utah to resign, or support those resigning, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was lucky enough to be able to document the event and interview some of those who were participating. I thought that some of you would enjoy watching it.

During the first set of interviews, several people said they had been wanting to leave for about 6 years. Some others said they have been out for 6 years.
Did something big happen about 6 years ago?

The only thing that comes to mind off the top of my head is the church started building that mall. Other factors could be Hinckleys death and Prop 8.

It looked a little sad to me. I didn't see much joy in the faces of the people involved. Of course, it was a protest, although this was denied in the beginning by john's wife. And what is with the American flags? What does the american flag have to do with resigning from the church and marching up a hill to do so?
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

Land of Liberty perhaps?
I know you want to believe ex Mormons are sad bitter people who couldn't hack Mormonism. But let's face it, you're the one who couldn't hack it.

Oh I don't know. The kid who just turned 18 sure seemed pretty happy about it. He was one of the ones that has been wanting out for 6 years. Must have been bad if a 12 year old wants out.
As far as the American flag, maybe because it stands for FREEDOM? Got a problem with the flag?

Perhaps they were subtly reminding people that many of its "prophets" and "apostles" had predicted its downfall by the end of the 19th century.

One step where events converge may alter your perception.

Why would you expect joy? I had profound depression for years after I left. Some of us do take it seriously, you know. Don't worry though, these things take time. They'll be much happier as time goes on.

Well, until they die and have to make an account for themselves and why they turned their back on the Lord.Lucretia MacEvil wrote:Why would you expect joy?
