I liked his books. I'm sure they were easy to get published.

I heard him speak at a fireside in Toronto, in the mid 90s. While I thought his books were just the same old motivational drivel, and quoted far too often in sacrament talks and priesthood lessons, he struck me as a decent person when I had a few minutes to chat with him after his speech.

I liked a book by him called The Divine Center. One of the better (of the hundreds) of church books I ever read. Much better than his Seven Habits stuff (though some of that isn't all bad, either--just way overdone). I liked the guy and met his son once, who was kind and engaging in conversation. My condolences to his family.
