Why do you assume why me would find a clean and civil discourse attractive?

His purpose here is not for discourse, it is to disrupt with his banal defenses of Mormonism.

I even agreed with the apologist that we should not use John D Lee's autobiography as a valid reference...and they still banned me.

I'm surprised you're still posting there at all, cwald. I got sick of it. If I ever want to immediately psych myself up to resign from the church, I'll start visiting there again. I'm sure that will give me sufficient motivation to want to withdraw my fellowship from jokers like them.

Interestingly enough, Shannon Novak's forensic work proved at least some of Lee's narrative was correct. Lee reports: "[Samuel] Knight also brained a boy that was about fourteen years old. The boy came running up to our wagons, and Knight struck him on the head with the butt end of his gun, and crushed his skull."

Novak found a partial cranium of a young adult male with blunt force trauma in a clear rectangular pattern the size and shape of a rifle butt. (Figure 6.15, in House of Mourning: A Biocultural History of the Mountain Meadows Massacre.)

The whole damn episode is so depressing, but what's much worse is the denial, obfusction, and rationalization of some apologists. Sick idiots.
