Not seeking Converts
I was visiting with some people in my area and one guy from Denver that was visiting family said that the Missionaries in his area were no longer out looking for converts. They were suppose to work with less active instead. Has anyone else heard of this and have any reasons why the church is doing this? I have my ideas but I would like to see your thoughts.

It's becoming more and more difficult to find fresh dupes. They will now refresh the old ones. They have to get tithing rolling in somehow.
I'm the apostate your bishop warned you about.

If one of the candidates for President were a JW, would it be a good idea for them to be out annoying folks as usual?

that does make sense. Best for the church to keep a low profile for a while

Don't irriate the general public until after the election?

Each day I'm outside the church my information becomes more stale, but this was one of the foundational pillars of the Rescue Program - missionaries were to spend a significant part of their time teaching the discussions to inactive members.

Hi Shixon,
I am no longer active but my teenaged son still has good friends who are. Several of his friends have been going out on splits with the missionaries assigned to our ward and they told my son that all they do is call on inactive members in the ward. So, maybe you are correct.

It would be more than coincidence if Romney wins the election, shortly after that the missionary focus returns with even more zeal towards finding new converts. That will suggest that lay low until the election and then return to high-profile proselytizing was a deliberate strategy.
For me, the proof will be in the pudding. Conjecture is more akin to a faith epistemology anyway.

There's some logic to the idea that someone who accepted it once is more likely to fall for it again.
On the other hand, there's the whole "fool me twice" concept.

Sliced, and then diced. Well done, sir.
