Can someone list the hobbyist apologists?

These are apologists that have a full-time job completely separate from religious studies. This means their full-time job would be something like:

Physician
Auto mechanic
Tailor
Baker
Chemical engineer
Lab technician
Rocket scientist
Ballet dancer

It means their they would not have a part-time job like this:

writing/journalism
history
religious studies
psychology
philosophy

Who are they?

Thanks!

Physician is not a religious occupation? Don't tell your doctor that that's what you believe.

Difference between a physician and god - god doesn't think he's a physician

Would the term also apply to scholars who are doing apologetic work outside of their field?

Outside of their full-time field, yes.

Or, you can be an active, public apostate anti-Mormon critic and spend the Lion's share of your life sitting in front of a computer obsessed with Joseph Smith's sex life and licked cupcakes.
