Does anyone have a good handle on what exactly entitles one to a 2nd Anointing? A temple president is kind of self-evident, but it’s just speculation on my part.
- Doc
I once had someone tell me that if you have the power to seal things here on earth, then you have received the second anointing. I have also heard rumors some, not all mission presidents, and stake presidents are kind of where it starts to happen.
Next time there is a data spill from apple or google, look to see who has visited the temple late on a Sunday vi there location data.

Hopefully this picture plays better on everyone's sensibilities.
Much better, thanks.

If I recall correctly, Mopologist William Schryver frequently bragged about receiving his Second Anointing.
ETA I decided to check up on William and found his Twitter page. I don’t know why I am surprised, but William is very pro Trump and strongly against vaccination.

How much of the participation in this ceremony is due to consanguinity and large tithing contributions?

Was consiglieri a mission President?
I suspect he knew all the lines to both
Guys and Dolls and
How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. Sometimes it is intangibles like that which matter to the Brethren. He probably paid substantial tithing and he was a lawyer, which was also a prized quality for the Brethren.
After the Heaven War, councilors will be needed to handle contract disputes both during the Spirit Paradise internment and for labor/management disputes between the three levels of the Celestial Kingdom. Planetary boundaries do not write themselves.

my experience going through the temple the first time was profound and life-changing. I was fully prepared to go, and I was not disappointed in regard to the transformative impact it had on my life.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. If I may ask, how old were at this time of your life?
Perhaps not the same but the way you describe your experience reminds me of a guy I know pretty well. He is a Jewish friend of mine (non religious/secular) who has told me on more than one occasion about a trip he took to Israel when he was in his early 20's. He tells me that when he approached the Wailing Wall, he became very emotional, began to cry and describes this as a profound spiritual event in his life. (Almost how you described yours less the life-changing part.) But for him, that's as far as it went - Like nothing happened after that. He went to Jerusalem as a secular Jew and after this experience, he came home as a secular Jew - And remains a secular Jew to this day. Anyway, I don't really know what to make of his experience - or your experience - because, obviously, neither of them were my experience. My friend I speak of is a great guy and I always love speaking with him about his beliefs as a secular Jew and my beliefs as a Bible believing Christian. The cool part, in my opinion, is that these discussions never get tense and/or uncomfortable, rather, they are always really open and relaxed.
Early on the SA gave those receiving it a maximal autonomy in priesthood matters, and this was taken out to make sure the LDS Church retained its hold on the person who received it.
Interesting. Thanks!

Yes, I vividly remember this as well - The reason I remember it so well, at least in part, is because it was my first time hearing/learning about someone who has had their "election made sure" - and Schryver was also the person who introduced "circle-jerking" to me.

Anecdote: A friend of mine shared that he was certain a mutual friend’s parents had gotten their second anointing. This guy was a mission president in his mid-40s, area authority in his mid-50s. Apparently he and his wife flew into Salt Lake fairly unannounced, didn’t want it publicized that they were in town, were hush hush but had to go downtown the one full day they were in town and left the next day after staying with family. He was a general authority either soon after, or this was soon after being made one (though I believe his calling put him outside of Salt Lake). My friend did not burst the bubble and tell this friend he had a pretty good idea what his parents came into town to do.
My guess is mopologists are outside. The church loves them and uses them, and is ready to discard them at a moments notice. The only way is if they have high callings actually inside the church.
