Female Preisthood--New Article from the SL Trib

I really enjoyed reading the following article:
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/lifestyle/ ... csp?page=1A lot of what is discussed here is spot-on, and I think that we are going to see some of these changes happen in the next decade or so.
In order for the Church to move forward, women are going to have to have more of a voice. If the Church really does want its budget to continue, they are going to have to allow women into the midst because more women are holding family purse strings, (like it or not, men...LOL).
Some of the items brought up in the article are things that I have also touched on in previous threads. I can see in the future women giving blessings to their daughters by the laying on of hands before they give birth, women administering to the sick, women having more of a prominent role in General Conference, quotes in Church curriculum, etc.

I believe it is "Answers to Gospel Questions" wherein the Author said that Mothers may stand in the circle and lay their hands on their children during a fathers blessing of their child.

However in practice I bet one would have difficulty finding a bishop who would allow it. I have known a woman who was told she could only if the blessing was performed privately in the bishop's office. ymmv

The MAD board response to this article is suitably depressing, ignorant and shallow.

I couldn't get past the title of the thread, which claimed the suggestions in the article were "bullying". Really? Very disappointing, to say the least.
I've been registered here for a while, but resisted posting, as there was nothing I, really, wanted to comment on...until this thread.
I think there are some wonderful suggestions, in that article. I hope some of them will be implemented.

Actually the best movie line ever was uttered by Debra Winger as Joy Gresham in
Shadowlands in response to condescension by another of your gender, bc:
Are you trying to be offensive, or just merely stupid?

Did I tell you I offered to give the priesthood to my wife? I'm hoping to ordain her to the office of Elder before the end of the year, if she is willing. Once that is done, She can freely do all the things you mentioned. I still have my priesthood lineage printed and stored away. I plan to modify it and pass a copy along to my wife. She will be able to trace her priesthood all they back to Jesus Christ.

Lol. Welcome Libs.
That thread reminded me I really do need to not look over there.
The article was pretty interesting and about as far from any human understanding of "bullying" as is possible.

And, for confirmation that I'm not crazy!
