My Lunch With The Legendary Dr. Scratch

Many Mopologists consider Dr. Scratch as one of the most vile, evil and morally bankrupt individuals to have ever lived. Some Mopologists have accused him of being sock puppets of various individuals. After having lunch with him last Thursday, I am pleased to tell you that the Mopologists couldn’t be more wrong.
I have enjoyed Dr. Scratch’s posts over the years and have admired him for taking a stand against the bullying and inappropriate tactics of many Mopologists. Despite the fact that I’m not very social and have personally only met 4 people from Mormondiscussions, I jumped at the opportunity to meet Dr. Scratch for lunch after receiving an email from him letting me know he was in SLC for a few days on business.
I met Dr. Scratch on Thursday at the Market Street Grill. Over the years, his online persona has taken on such mythical proportions that I found myself a little apprehensive about meeting him. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him and very much enjoyed talking with him about a variety of topics. Surprisingly, the topic of DCP never came up. My impressions of him are that he is an intelligent, funny, curious and unassuming person.
I would like to thank Dr. Scratch for the good lunch, great conversation and for making a difference in the behavior of Mopology. Dr. Scratch, in my opinion, has made a real and visible change for good. For me, Dr. Scratch will be a constant reminder of what a purposefully motivated individual can accomplish.
There's an ancient Japanese martial art called Aikido (the way of harmony). In Aikido you always use your opponent's energy to help you rather than trying to fight back. The concept of Aikido is that you wait until your opponent attacks, and you go with it, not harming your opponent but controlling your opponent with its own energy. The opponent will not realize this until it’s too late. The Mopologists never had a chance.
Until next time, thanks Dr. Scratch.
P.S. I am buying next time and don't try to stop me.

I always suspected that Scratch was a dandy fellow. I'm not surprised that you found him that way in real life.
Thanks for the report. Tell him hi for me if you see him again.

Wow, I had no idea that I had spent time in Salt Lake City eating a fine lunch with Everybody Wang Chung at the Market Street Grill.
I thought I had just passed out for days. Who knew?

Excellent! I was also accused of being a Dr. Scratch sock puppet a while back. I would imagine Dr. Scratch finds all of this sock puppet hysteria mildly amusing

Wow, so if Scratch responds to this thread then we'll have a conversation going between Scratch and two of his sock puppets! Ray and Ludd will be so impressed . . .

Just think: For a brief window of time Doctor Scratch and I were in the same county.
I hope you enjoyed your stay, Doctor.
