Laban's brass plates with O.T. up to 600 B.C.?

Were the Hebrew scriptures available even compiled by 600 B.C.? A believer in the Book of Mormon is supposed to believe that Laban had all of the books of the Old Testament through 600 B.C. even including Jeremiah? And that they were written in Egyptian on the brass plates? Doesn't the Book of Mormon fall apart right there? Is there any reason to go further?

Not if one is writing a fictional novel and has it stolen....

But if you stop right there you miss the really funny parts.

Where does it say they were written in Egyptian?

Mosiah 1:3,4:
3 And he also taught them concerning the records which were engraven on the plates of brass, saying: My sons, I would that ye should remember that were it not for these plates, which contain these records and these commandments, we must have suffered in ignorance, even at this present time, not knowing the mysteries of God.
4 For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except it were for the help of these plates; for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians therefore he could read these engravings, and teach them to his children, that thereby they could teach them to their children, and so fulfilling the commandments of God, even down to this present time.

Thanks. It is a problem whether written in Egyptian or Hebrew, since both could not be done without a lot of plates to carry. The same problem exists for the Gold plates except we know the approximate dimensions they are claimed to be, and less then 1/3 represents over 500 pages of English text. Of course one has to wonder why they would write in Egyptian in the first place.

Is it even plausible to believe that all of these writings had been compiled into one place by then so that a person like Laban could have possessed them? Even the words of Jeremiah?

Like so many other issues, it is not plausible. This is why apologists like to play the possibility game.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that, according to Masonic legend, Enoch erected two pillars, one of brass and one of marble, and inscribed the marble one with hieroglyphics.
That must be an amazing coincidence.

Limiting the power of Gods servants is like limiting Gods power.
Like Aaron and Moses they must have had magic wand/staffs/divining rods.
Along with the key words and 'Abracadabra'
Remember with GOD nothing is impossible.
Even time travel. therefore quotes in the Book of Mormon, from after that period can be explained.

There's reasoning for you!
