There are eery resemblances - sisters who are sure that the atheist still 'really' believes but just wants to be different, a mother who finds it impossible to eat in an atheist's house, accusations of 'betraying your people's history' ...
It appears that there is a limited range of human possibilities for dealing with disruption of highly valued but in the end imaginary thought structures.
