All in? No place for NOMs

It seems that the LDS Church will only suffer NOMs--those who find some value in the LDS Church's teachings, but don't buy the whole enchilada--so far, and for so long.

You either stand and tow the company line at F&T and other sacrament meetings, or your welcome is limited. One is welcome to speculate from the pulpit as to what 'reasons' god has for this LDS rule or that one. Straying from what is explicit in the scriptures is okay, so long as it is supposing 'good' reasons for such a rule, a rationale (human logic) that supports the 'divine' rule. But express that you have problems with rule X and worse, explain why you think rule X might be incorrect--bingo, plug that person's pie hole. If need be, excommunicate him.

It's the same with all organizations. A simple example would be that I cannot generally participate on a NOM message board by saying whatever I please.

So you're absolutely right. There is no room for NOMism in the LDS Church. Never will be. Welcome is not limited though.

As long as they keep paying their tithing and keep their mouths shut during Cult meetings on Sunday? No problem.

Publish a web site like MormonThink? Problem.

Keep the money rolling in as long as possible.

Sure.

They pay tithing of their own accord. Pretty foolish to continue to do so for a organization they don't believe in don't you think? Cog Dis? Yeah, Cog Dis (self-induced).

BC is correct in my opinion. The LDS church needs and wants to maintain the purity of their particular "gospel" message and doctrinal beliefs.

You can be a NOM, a doubter, or even a complete non-believer...just keep your opinions to yourself.

The feminist Laurel Thatcher Ulrich has been expressing her views without any trouble.

So has the apostate Harry Reid. I doubt he says those things in Church though if indeed he even goes to Church.

People do what they have to do. Not everyone can be a fanatic.
