It is most appropriate.
Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
However, I'd be interested to know if he would have committed to publically repudiating that group and dissociating himself with them, the only thing that would have prevented this.
