Thomas Monson....MIA

So the Brigham City Temple was dedicated Sunday the 23 of September by a bevy of LDS GA's...with the exception of one noted GA, Thomas Monson. Has his health, as has been rumored, deminished his role as President of the Church to the point that he can't even show up for hand wave to a local temple dedication?

I'm thinking that his condition is much worse than has been rumored...I guess we'll see for sure come October conference...when there will be no hiding place for him to hide.

It was announced weeks ago that Pres. Packer would be presiding. He is from Brigham City, and it is a big deal for him and the other people of the area to have a Temple in their own town. His health isn't the best either. It's also in the best interest of the President to delegate things like temple dedications to others--the church is getting big and he can't be everywhere.

While Pres. Monson is getting old and may be able less visible, it's not new. Pres. Kimball, Pres. Benson, and Pres. Hunter all showed decline while serving as Prophet. That's one reason for having counselors and the Quorum, as well as other General Authorities to help out.

People with physical or mental incapacities are not hiding. Such incapacities are an incident of age and happen to all of us if we live long enough.

Yeah, Monson is pretty much out. Rumors have been flying around for years that he has gone senile. He is finally out of it so much now that they won't allow him to be in public.

My favorite rumor is that he grabbed some nurse's rear end at a recent doctor's visit. I don't think we've had that kind of a prophet since Joseph Smith.

I think I passed that rumor along. A friend of mine is a doctor at the hospital in question and passed it along to me. He also uttered a few profanities. Unfortunately, it sounds like he has Alzheimer's, which can hit anyone, saint or sinner alike.

I think I also heard this on Facebook, but maybe you posted it there too.

Are previous prophets comparable to monson in duration of decline and type of illness?

After all the comments I've read here in the past few months about Pres. Monson's deteriorating health and lack of mental acuity, It surprised me to read the following on a blog this morning:

I've heard from several sources that Elder Russell M. Nelson has announced to a number of Stake Presidents that President Thomas M. Monson has received a revelation that will affect every man, woman, and child in the church. This revelation is supposed to be announced in the upcoming general conference.

It'll be interesting to see which rumors are closest to the truth.

For some reason I am not expecting too much.
