oh brother, can anyone see what I was banned for on MDDB?

Post by _Sethbag »

Not banned from the whole board, but banned from the Conference Bombshell Revelation thread started by Brother Schryver.

Apparently my underwhelmed response to the news that the mission age had been dropped was overly offensive to someone in power, but I never got to see what post of mine they commented on, and what they said.

Can anyone see this? I've already exceeded how many posts I'm allowed to see as a guest.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

The authority that banned you didn't leave a comment. You do have one reply. Stargazer responded by saying:

Oh, you're a scream.

I think two pieces of bread would cause too much questioning. Not to mention make the priests have to take longer to make sure the bread was torn into even smaller pieces.

By the way, welcome back! Missed your annoying sniping. Mostly anyway.

I don't think I said anything overtly offensive. A little dry snark at most. Perhaps it was just me pointing out how underwhelming this all is? I mean, I wouldn't want to put a damper on the immense outpouring of joy this momentous revelation from Elohim has unleashed on the Saints in his kingdom. Heaven forbid!

Of course you didn't. The moderators there reserve the right to be as arbitrary as they want, and it looks like you simply struck a nerve.

Not only that, but you can be banned there for behavior here.

I hardly ever go there, but I constantly see the "you have exceeded your lurking quota" message.

It was because of this post you made:

Yawn.

You seem easily enthused.

If this is that great, awesome, bombshell revelation we were promised, well, let's just say I'm glad I didn't bother to drop whatever else I was doing this morning to tune in.

I have to say expectations have been lowered pretty darn far if this is the kind of news that passes for exciting in the church.

I heard through the grapevine that they were planning to announce that from now on members may take two pieces of bread during the sacrament, but they put off announcing that one until next Conference. Too much excitement all at once would scare away the Spirit!

 Uhhhhhh....not exactly. He was banned for being an idiot. But he knows this too. He was sarcastic and dismissive.

Why Me, did you notice the person I was replying to in that post ended her post on the subject with "WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!"? Don't you think that was a little overenthusiastic, given the news?

If that was all it took to get banned over there then about 80% of the posters would be banned already.

It doesn't matter. You mocked the holy spirit in that post. It was a stupid post to make. And I think that you know it. Thus, you were banned from that thread. She was enthusiastic but that is only natural for some people. But....your response was just too jerky with the beginning and the yawn.
