Joanna Brooks Watch

I've got a new blog up, following Sister Brooks ongoing animadversions and ideological explorations of LDS teachings and philosophy from the La Brea depths of the contemporary academic Left and pop culture, and just wanted to let everybody know it was up.

I'd hope to get some serious discourse and discussion going there as I follow and comment upon here essays, op-eds, and editorials at Religion Dispatches and in other venues, as I think her stuff both deserves a hearing as well as sound, vigorous response.

Hope to see some of your there (the blog will be moderated, so, while I will not disallow strong disagreement with me and my perspective, a lot of the stuff that goes on in here will not be tolerated. Behave like adults, and that's how you will be treated in return).

You mean to say that you will not allow us to post on your blog the way Shades allows you to post on his site?

OK.

Obviously...no. I mean there will be no profanity, vulgarity, viscous cut-downs, posts composed of nothing but flaming and vitriol, and no wars between personalities.

In other words, about 90% of what has gone on in here since this places inception.

Aren't viscous and cut-down mutually exclusive terms? Although you did reference the La Brea Tar Pits, so maybe you're thinking about those sabertooth tigers for the cutting part?

I think the tar pits invaded the grammar and gave us "viscous" here.

Dear god, spell check. Possessive commas. Sentence structure. There are tutors available at the Writing Center.

He's not really selling the blog, is he? Besides, why not just post to Joanna's site? Why go through Droopy's obnoxious filter to discuss her writing?
