Whenever you're tempted to write a sentence like this...
So, as this has long been something with which I’ve been wont to grapple, I’ve decided to give the subject a preliminary treatment here, in a forum where the nodes at which the gospel and politics meet and interact are the coin of the realm.

Because I do not write, when I write seriously, at a seventh to eighth grade reading level.
You are free to stay right where you are comfortable.

Droopy thinks that complication and pretentiousness are signs of advanced writing skills. It's a mistake that bright high school students often make. Fortunately, unlike Droopy, many bright high school students are willing to listen to advice on how to make their writing clearer and more effective.

One of the things I have noticed in life is that a person's intelligence is directly proportional to how well that person is able to craft endless run-on sentences full of mixed metaphors and several dozen dependent clauses.

I think Droopy's ideas in this regard can be extrapolated to other areas of life.
For example, we can clearly see that this person:

has better fashion sense than this person:

because the person in the top picture is wearing more stuff.
