My only question is this: Who is Big Brother and is he real?

What does he want them to say: "Daniel Peterson, after being unceremoniously fired this summer for being a big stinky internet jerk and bully..."

DCP wrote:I’ve noticed a new item on the website of the Maxwell Institute at BYU.

“Dr. Kristian Heal,” it says, “has been appointed to serve as the Maxwell Institute’s new director of advancement (fundraising). He succeeds in this position Professor Daniel C. Peterson, who has elected to step down and return to full-time teaching as professor of Arabic and Islamic studies in BYU’s Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages.” (Emphasis mine.)

Sorry. I just found that hilarious. I’ve vowed to say little or nothing more about the matter publicly, but . . . well, I mean, really.

DCP should be glad that they didn't tell the truth--i.e., "who resigned in the course of a massive 4th-grade-esque hissy fit that was epic beyond measure, and who then proceded to threaten to 'steal' away all the Maxwell Institute's donors, and who hasn't stopped whining about this since it took place several months ago."

He's "vowed to say little or nothing," huh? His "vows" haven't stopped him from commenting on this fortnightly, and even going to so far as to openly trash not only the MI, but BYU. I don't know why the Brethren tolerate this sort of open disrespect and insubordination.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't DCP just fired as the Exec. Editor of the review, but told he would still have a role at NAMIRS including his role as Dir. of Advancement? In a leaked email to Bradford wasn't it DCP who had a nuclear melt down and told Bradford he was resigning from NAMIRs altogether and would do everything in his power to ensure they would never be able to raise funds? This is how it went down right?

Does anyone have links to Bradford's original email and DCP's childish response. It used to be online, but I can't find it.

It seems they did DCP a favor in their explanation.

It looks like Scratch beat me to the punch. I didn't see his post, before i posted mine. I can see it shows that my recollections were on par. Its funny how moving forward DCP spins it like he was totally cast out of MI when in reality they simply reassigned one of his many MI responsibilities and he took it upon himself to throw the baby out with the bath water and resign his entire post altogether.

Brian Fantana: Take it easy, Dan. Why don't you stop talking for a while?

Ron Burgundy: Yeah, sit the next couple plays out, if you know what I mean.

Dr. Bradford:

You've achieved your goal. I resign.

I resign as Director of Advancement, effective immediately. You've already fired me as editor of the Mormon Studies Review.

Word to the wise: If you ever start up a history whitewashing club, don't be shocked to discover one day that everything you worked so hard for has been conveniently erased.
