About 24,000 Mormon missionaries pass through the Provo training center every year to learn foreign languages and how to teach the LDS message before they embark on proselytizing stints in more than 120 countries across the globe.

There are a total of 17 MTCs located in nations throughout the world in locations in addition to Provo, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Peru, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom.

Hmmm...

Given that Missionaries serve 18-24 months, only 27,000 - 30,000 go through 'MTC' training each year. If the Trib is accurate in saying 24,000 a year go through Provo then only 3,000-6,000 go through the other 16 MTC's.
That equates to between 187 and 375 missionaries per year per MTC, excluding Provo.

Really?

Or is the number '24,000' the one given out as justification for the new Provo MTC plans whereas the reality is somewhat less than this...
