Torture Architect Called as Bishop

The LDS Church in Spokane, Washington has called Bruce Jesson to be a Mormon Bishop, according to the Seattle Times. Jesson developed the waterboarding and sleep-deprivation interrogation techniques for the CIA. There were no dissenting votes from the congregation when Jesson's name was put before the members for a sustaining vote. The last line in the article is revealing. Bishop Jesson apparently does not believe that as a spiritual leader the basic rules of common civility apply to him.

"As a bishop — an unpaid, part-time position that usually lasts several years — Jessen will take confessions and help people with their personal problems,"
Personal problems such as masturbation and gayness.

That's shocking

He got 100% of the vote. Has that ever happened before?

It is highly unusual, but I am told there was a waterboard leaning against the sacrament table to encourage people to vote correctly.

Yes. It's good that he came up with these techniques because we all know that people always tell the truth when they are tortured.
