I was at the game and had a great time. Notre Dame is a very special place. So much tradition and their fans are really cool.
I'm happy that the Cougar defense did well but man, BYU needs an offense. They currently have no ability to move the football. Well, except against Hawaii.
Anyway ... rambling....
Did remind me of a funny counselor in a Bishopric of a ward I was once a member of. Every time BYU did well on the national stage he said it was The Lord spreading the gospel! I guess the devil had his way when BYU lost.... :)

BYU is probably lucky to have scored 14 against the ND defense. Didn't watch it but BYU hasn't had a good balance with rushing or a scary secondary for as far back as anyone can remember. Only guys that get drafted out of that school are lineman and the occasional linebacker or slot receiver.
To be fair there are like 100 Catholic Jesus' out there and ND has to be one of the best lately.

BYU's D was incredible and had they not given up 2 big running plays BYU may have had a chance to win.
Our offense is just awful with the exception of Jamal Williams

I did watch the game. BYU's offense is far from the standard set in the Edwards days (none of the creativity in the passing game) but their two touchdowns were legitimate and well executed touchdowns. They gave ND all they could handle.

From the highlight clips I didn't see any impressive BYU plays outside of the touchdown pass in the back (impressive for the offensive coordinator). BYU's successes seemed to come from ND errors than anything else.
I saw a lot of ND WR's getting behind the CB's and safeties (who also rarely played press)- a great ND QB would have lit up the field on those plays. Saw a couple plays when the QB was in trouble and the WR's literally just stopped and watched.
Didn't see a single thing in about 10 minutes of footage about BYU to be impressed about outside of the black corner who played very physically. Team seems to be still overhyped as always, about as much tenacity as a sack of potatoes. The players on the field looked like they were watching the game too.
BYU didn't almost win squat ND almost beat themselves.
