Not going to quote it, because some hot shot mod will edit it.

DCP wrote:My Malevolent Stalker’s incessant defamation grew old soon after it started, and I don’t know how long I’m going to continue to put up with it. Have his efforts hurt my reputation? Probably. But possibly not among more than a handful of people already disposed to disdain me and all my works. Has he hurt my career? Probably not. But it’s difficult to be certain. These are areas of ambiguity. Still, I probably won’t let this go on forever, nor even for a whole lot longer, without some sort of serious response.

Those admissions would be used to skewer DCP on cross-examination on the issue of the amount of damages, should he sue.

He huffs, he puffs, and ... well, threatens all the time, like he made threats to Shades that he (DCP) would sue posters here if Shades did not shut down the thread here last December when BDM was being tried for the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping.

It baffles me that his best guesses at Scratch's identity are Chino Blanco and Kishkumen. I don't know any of these people, but just from reading them online, it feels like he couldn't be further off if he tried.

DCP wrote:I’ve never lied, nor even been inaccurate, about the very limited compensation that I did receive in connection with my work for the Maxwell Institute.

Contrary evidence?

I'm trying to figure out what it was exactly that set him off, and my best guess is that it has something to do with the recent observations about how much he made in his role as editor of the Review. So, why is he so emotional about this?

Dr Scratch, you're still getting his goad. DCP is a peevish, little personality, most assuredly insecure and bitter:

DCP wrote:My patience with the Stalker is wearing thin.

Evidently, he believes that I am part of a collective that contributes to your MDB persona, Doctor.

How about this:

<some totally unsubstantiated rumour about a well known apologist> - fill in ad lib.

“I have no personal knowledge as to whether this is true or not, and, if it’s false, I sincerely apologize”.

And if said apologist indicates that s/he is not guilty, perhaps I'll find someone else to apply the rumour to.

Rinse & repeat.

Eventually (though it may take a while) I'll hit the correct target. Of course, if each target denies the rumour I may have no way of knowing whether s/he's being honest.

ETA - save as a template - may have multiple fields of application.
