Not going to IMG this because it creeps the hell out of me.

This image has been making the rounds by Mormons on Facebook. It's creepy as all get out.
Mormon Prophets aren't elected. No lay member has any say whatsoever about who is going to be the next Prophet. Unless Monson dies - then of course the President won't change. And Mormon Presidents aren't anything like the President. When one Mormon President dies - a predetermined successor takes his place. The hand raising done in Mormon General Conference is nothing more than formality. The votes aren't counted. On top of this, how dare any lay member vote against? It is all done by the Holy Ghost(tm)(c)(r)INTELLECTUAL RESERVE, INC.

After leaving Mormonism behind I don't have this kind of gloomy "The End is Nigh" crap anymore. I'm far more positive we can make it. I tossed out my food storage and stopped listening to corporate geriatrics at 150 E South Temple.

I still believe the country would have benefited and headed in a much more positive direction with Governor Romney as its leader, but all I can do is vote & I did. It is a sad day in my opinion and I believe the country will suffer for the decision made yesterday. It makes it even more important to listen to our prophet and work on being better prepared and self-reliant. We have been told that things will get much worse before they get better; I guess this should not be too shocking. So I guess I will do my best today to follow him and get back to my own work of raising my kids & praying hard for a nation that is headed for even more troubling times.
