Polygamy, sexuality, and naughty chimps!
It's all here:
http://play.sydneyoperahouse.com/index. ... a-dog.html
If you like evolutionary psychology you will like how this psychologist explains the evolution of human sexuality. He uses his research on Bonabo chimps to say that humans are naturally not monogamous and that sexuality of all sorts is a form of both reproduction and bonding.
If you like the Gospel and polygamy then you will like the conclusions at the end of the presentation that forms of group living are quite positive for adults and children.
If you believe homosexuality and lesbianism are not something that defines people you may, or may not, like how he deconstructs the notion of sexual orientation and makes it more another form of sexual expression. He spends a little time on the idea that Bonabo chimp females uses sex with each other as a form of cohesion in the unit while also engaging in relations with males.
So is biology a justification for human polygamy? the Abrahamic religions, if they were honest, would say yes as well. What do you think?

You are looking for justification because... ______?
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Am I under some obligation to behave like a Chimp? I thought evolution involves change from the past not a law where the future must endlessly repeat the past.

I prefer bald eagle.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I imagine that each of this animals faced their own variation of a flaming sword and reacted accordingly. Do not use presentism in judging these animals.

I gather I am to imagine my behavior as not only imprisoned by the laws of Chimps but birds as well?

What if archaeologists find evidence that abuse of power was instrumental in the prosperity of the human race?
Would that justify abuse of power?
This thread stirs me up.

Zee, as an engineer, I'm sure that you already know that 'abuse of power' is 'instrumental in the prosperity of the human race.' Specifically, humanity's unparalleled ability and proclivity to exploit resources is one of things that have led us to where we are now.
