Not solely, no. I already said that part of the presentation is about the way the clothes lie. But again, the young, skinny, generally attractive models belies any claims it is just about the clothes.

Well, certainly it isn't "in most senses dependent on the objectification of sex".

So, when a woman chooses a career as a model she deserves to be sexually objectified no matter what she is modeling. Hmm. Any other careers that you feel that way about?
To put it differently. If a model is wearing an outfit that is not sexually stimulating she deserves to have rude things said about her weight, skin color and sexual desirability. This is because her job is to be a sex object...
I disagree.

Is thinking that someone is sexually attractive the objectification of sex? If not perhaps my definition is too broad. Regardless, finding someone sexually attractive, and wanting to be found sexually attractive is something we all do (save for the truly asexual). It seems to be a condition of the perpetuation of the species.

I'm wondering why the tirade on sex. We are talking about clothing and pants. This has little if anything to do with sex. It is possible to be attracted to something without thinking of sex. You can be attracted to a sunset or flowers or a nice loaf of bread just like you can be attracted to beautiful clothing.
Just Me and I don't agree on some things fashion (i.e. boots) but I can tell you it has absolutely nothing to do with what I find sexually arousing. Not in the least.

Right. Cause no one buys clothes in order to enhance their image/ attractiveness. The whole concept is so foreign.
You've never thought "I look fine in this suit" and JustMe has never thought "Dam I'd look hot in those boots.".

I disagree.
A model's success depends on her (or his) being photogenic. It's a hard thing to quantify. Attractive people are not always photogenic and average looking people sometimes are.
A model's job is to sell something (clothes, products, etc.). The people paying for the photo shoot don't care if the intended audience finds the model sexually attractive. They only care if the model makes the clothes or products attractive.
That's how it should be.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Right, and that is why you see so many heavier, asymetrical people in the adds.

For what it's worth, I rather think that the Twiggy-Sherlock Holmes conflation that Just Me posted works quite nicely as a critique of LDS patriarchy--for all sorts of reasons. Just my two cents.

Of course I want to look good. That is not what I thought you've been saying. What I thought you were saying was that models are objectifying sex and that I'm looking for ways to have more sex by donning a nice blazer.
Nice clothing gives me confidence. It makes me feel like I'm expressing myself to both my self and to others.
