Barna Group wrote: The report ranks the most and least “Bible-minded” cities by looking at how people in those cities view the Bible. The study is based on 42,855 interviews conducted nationwide and the analysis of Bible trends was commissioned by American Bible Society. Individuals who report reading the Bible in a typical week and who strongly assert the Bible is accurate in the principles it teaches are considered to be Bible-minded. This definition captures action and attitude—those who both engage and esteem the Christian scriptures. The rankings thus reflect an overall openness or resistance to the Bible in the country’s largest markets.
Here is the list of rankings, SLC came in an 84 out of 96, behind such bastions of biblical morality as Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, and Washington D.C.
Having the Book of Mormon and the Bible is like having two boyfriends.
Oh, and did you notice how MDB auto caps one book and not the other? Just a little side note... :)
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

Really? I usually see the Book of Mormon compatible with a lot found in Methodism. As I've been warned by LDST and have found out to my dismay, cyou can't get Mormonism from the Book of Mormon.

The Mormon/Methodist thing needs to be pushed more.
"And the human knew the source of life, the woman of him, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, 'I have procreated a man with Yahweh.'" Gen. 4:1, interior quote translated by D. Bokovoy.
I find it difficult not to suspect that an expectation of at least close to inerrancy lies inside this Bible Minded category. Mormons may often not quite fit the test.
There would also be the effect of Mormonism driving some people further away from religious belief.

This may not be what Zee had in mind, but I suspect if the question were reworded to, "Do you read scripture at least once a week?" the poll results would be vastly different.
The Book of Mormon is the boyfriend she likes to hang out with every day.
The Bible isn't as cool or socially elevating to be seen with in SLC, but his dad gets free tickets to all the good shows.

In the Mormon church you will sometimes hear them issue a "Book of Mormon challenge" or rather challenge memebers to read The Book of Mormon by some date. I can't recall any New Testament or Old Testament challenges.

As BCSpace said, the early brethren prophecied Salt Lake would be the most wicked city in the world before the second coming. Well, they may not have said precisely that, but something close. The same logic that makes earth, the planet Jesus came to out of all the planets he died for, the most wicked planet would also make Salt Lake the most wicked city in TBM logic.

and then there's this. on the web page, it had a Q&A that said Mormonism was the second largest religion in Las Vegas. Las Vegas also ranks lower than Salt Lake. It's possible they even created their questions specifically to penalize broadly Christian religions that aren't born-again to reflect less Bible-mindedness than the unreligious or non-Christians. Some of the east coast cities I'd assume are heavily Catholic also rank very low.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
