I snorted when I read "reformed Egyptian" and "dumbed down" in the same sentence.
Are you speculating, Nightlion, that this written language may descend from that Nephite language taken with the explorers who set out on ships from the Book of Mormon lands? That's probably a testable hypothesis. If it fails the test, what would that mean to you?

I am well familiar with the extant reformed 'c'aract'o'Relief Society and all. Could be a Hagoth and his ships that launched out into the Sea West returning and then nothing more was heard.
I think you would need someone who speaks Rapanui to break the code. What R E characters we do have were not about fishing which seems to be fundamentally what is being made an account of here.
From the little bit I have looked at it I can identify male and female, child and a symbol for love. Plus the fish stuff.
In the R E script there is a word I deciphered as fathers which was simply two male organs together. If RE is that raw and basic then this Rongorongo could be a unsophisticated cousin.
To answer your question of what it could mean to me, well, nothing. Either way or both. I am perplexed at having not heard about it. I did my research close to thirty years ago. I might have seen it but forgot.

Could be the recounting of the Nephite wars as told by the last remaining Curelom after his species fled to Easter Island.

I think one glyph is a penquin. How do you account for it?

Farsightedness or else the Cureloms were praising the one who communed with Zelph.

I am thinking someone attempted writing RE who was only familiar but illiterate made for a flashcard elementary cartoonish script. Perhaps american totems are the same sort of unsophistication.
