OMIDS

Post by _Sethbag »

I didn't get the memo.

What is OMIDS?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I have no idea.

If I were to take a guess, it would be something like: Old Maxwell Institute, with the DS part left up to your imagination (and I can think of a few).

If that's not close, don't blame me.

Ousted Maxwell Institute Danite, if I'm not mistaken. The 's' just pluralizes it and isn't part of the acronym.

I was guessing Old Maxwell Institute Dudes. Guess Monson doesn't have to worry about me taking his job.

I was too embarrassed to admit I didn't know what it stood for. Thanks, Sethbag. I figured out who it referred to, though, and it was fun making up my own decipherment. My favorite attempt was Oversized Maxwell Institute Douchebags.

Yes we all understood who it referred to. But maybe best to leave it definable per the circumstance and user. The above suggested is fun, as well others proposed here.

I love how "Danite" can be a clever double entendre here.

I can't remember who made it up, but it stands for "Ousted Maxwell Institute Danite." As someone else noted, the "s" just makes it plural.

It applies to all casualties of the Bradford junta, especially the vocal ones, of course.

lostindc gets the credit.
