I personally think that publications like Sports Illustrated Swim Suit edition objectify women, and to me that it wrong many levels. Because of this, I don't buy the magazine. Problem solved. I will not push my opinion on others, and will thank others for the same courtesy.

Little good usually comes from this type of moral grandstanding. It usually just pisses people off.

second, can you not see how media can affect people's lives even if they chose not to consume it?

An issue featuring sticky notes rather than swim suits would be a bold move on the part of Sports Illustrated, especially when the humidity of some photo locations would tend to loosen the stickiness.
