According to EAllusion, NO LEGAL ACTION HAS BEEN THREATENED!

Scratch posted a review of the infamous Dehlin paper that claimed he had read the paper and quoted from it. (It seems no one contests this but I'll still qualify it as "claimed" until the paper is released.) On the other board several people (it will not be tough to guess who) suggested that the Greg Smith (Or whom ever holds the copyright on the paper) should pursue legal action against Scratch (which would involve this board) for quoting parts of the paper, as an intellectual copyright infringement. Shades pulled the thread as a precautionary measure and a lot of posters are complaining about it. (I have to wonder how many of those offended by Shades reaction to the thread are certain enough of their position that they would agree to pay any and all costs that might arise from any legal action.)

Hmmm... Why are they so upset that Scratch quoted from it? IMHO he did them a favor. Consider my line of thinking:
-Weren't the OMIDS pissed that the Dehlin piece got pulled and wasn't allowed to be published?
-Didn't DCP and gang swear up and down that it was an "academic" piece and not a hit piece?
They were upset because this was a vanilla piece that got pulled by a bunch of higher ups who supposedly never read it. They were seething with rage that it didn't get published. They were offended by the crazy accusation that the paper was an ad hominem "attack the messenger" paper. They yearned to clear the air, but oh me oh my, they weren't allowed to publish it.
Now they wanna sue for copywrite violations? All of a sudden they are not happy when portions of something they really wanted to publish gets published on a forum? Could it be because whatever Scratch posted really did show that it was a hit piece? Could it be that Scratch caught them in a lie? Now they can no longer hide behind the excuse of "The truth won't prevail because we can't publish it".
Its also interesting that they didn't behave in the typical dismissive fashion of: "Scratch's musings on the Dehlin paper are completely false and baseless. Its all Anti-Mormon lies from the trailer park as usual... Harumph! Harumph!"
They must have really got caught with their pants down if they are lashing out with legal threats.
Tapirs... Yeah... That's the ticket!

Now that the Dehlin piece is published, can the original Dr. Scratch review thread go back up, intact?
Please.
Please.
