What Greg Smith has done is cobbled together a bunch of material written at different times in various informal venues, mostly chatty, informal material--some of it even retracted by way of deletion, and he has with this material constructed his own narrative. Greg Smith's John Dehlin, constructed by Smith himself, is target of Smith's attacks.

In short, he is providing a phony review of a text he has written.

It is a hit piece, or even, though perhaps to a lesser extent, like an unofficial biography or tabloid article.
