On a different board there are a couple of threads that indicate that the percentage of couples leaving the church that participate in Polyamory and swinging are actually quite high.
I'm assuming they are quite low ... Am I just blind to my bias that these are not healthy and assume most others assume this as well, and hence lower numbers.
What is your experience with family/friends beging involved in these activities?

I am friends with a couple who have left the church, though having resigned, who have experimented with swinging. From what he told me it was more of a one-off thing and it was her idea. They were friends already with the other couple.
I've known swinging couples who were not LDS even before I was married who live in Utah and they said I would be surprised at some of the people who partisipate.
I don't know the answer, but I suspect it's higher than most people would think, but not so high that it would be considered normal. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's how some people deal with wanting to stay married but wondering what they missed out on by following the traditional LDS path of chastity before marriage and getting married early.
