You're absolutely vile and obnoxious paternalistic air of intellectual superiority towards anyone who takes issue with your clear misapprehension of core LDS doctrine must give one pause. - Droopy

HURRAH!
This is HUGE--both as a step in openness at the HDC and for the benefit of research by Mormon studies wonks like me.

Thanks for the heads-up, Loyd. I notice they don't have a transcription yet, but I suspect they'll put one up soon. Now I wish I hadn't recently spent a couple weeks transcribing the whole thing on my own. Oh well. I guess there's something to be said for really digging into the handwriting issues on my own terms.

This is great news. I can finally stop using the poor-quality photocopy version I bought from the Tanners.

Awesome.
I await the inevitable post on MDD how posting the GAEL in 2013 proves the Church has not been hiding a document they have known about since the 1930s.

"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."
