nice analogy.

by the way, I did some research, and there is a communist party in the united states. So Darth's interpretation of the red stripe on the flag is a BULLSEYE!!! How could an uneducated farmboy like DarthJ have known about the american communist party?

Darth, you are a false prophet!

That could only be true IF tomorrow were Tuesday. Which it ain't. Sorry.

Blasphemer!!

This is in exceptionally poor taste and makes you and what you represent look bad. What Darth J is doing is clever. What you are doing is crude.

SteelHead wrote:I am sorry DJ, but I talked to a highly educated Italianologist (Google translate) and he said your original means:
"I went to church. Following the meeting 'was over, I ate a big piece of cheese."

Now please explain to me the dual meaning hidden in the symbology of the character set and the flag.

SteelHead, as far as I am aware, you do not have a PhD in Italian literature. You probably haven't even read La Commedia Divina or I Promessi Sposi cover to cover, let alone published extensively in academic journals.

Therefore, you are not qualified to comment on the accuracy of my translation.

Sethbag wrote:In addition, your interpretation of the hypoflagulus is in error. The true interpretation is as follows:

red stripes: represent the cuts across one's neck and abdomen as performed by ninjas, for revealing the various secrets of the ninjular inner sanctum

white stripes: represent the blades of the legendary Ninjato swords used to inflict the red stripes if you reveal the various secrets of the ninjular inner sanctum

stars: the shuriken you can expect should you cross the ninja protectors of the ninjular inner sanctum

field of blue: represents night-time, or that you should fear to fall asleep, since at night you will not see the ninjas coming

Science is constantly changing. For example, people used to think smoking was perfectly fine. Now we know it is bad for you. Also, people used to think dinosaurs dragged their tails, but now we are pretty sure they balanced their tails up in the air.

Also, Galileo.

Therefore, just because some secular historians have their own opinion about what the United States flag symbolizes doesn't mean that will be our understanding tomorrow. And also, the question is not what the U.S. flag means to a modern historian today, but what it would have meant to ancient Americans in the 18th century or whatever.
